Senior Guard Seminars
Every year, approximately 1 in 10 seniors will become a victim of financial abuse. Financial abuse of elders can be stopped if we all stand together. We teach seniors to take action when they recognize a warning sign of financial abuse. Seminars are taught in the local communities in partnership with locally-based, nonprofit agencies such as senior centers.
The seminars cover the major areas of fraud:
- Sweepstakes scams
- “Free” living trust informational luncheons
- Co-signer traps
- Predatory loans
- Identity theft
- Fraudulent contractors
- Unsuitable floating rate and deferred rate annuities
