If you receive your cleared checks with your account statement, you should be aware of an upcoming change.

To accommodate improvements in check processing, Westamerica Bank will be converting to a completely electronic check processing environment and will no longer return cleared checks in monthly account statements. You will be notified by letter when your checks will no longer be enclosed with your statement. Statements will continue to list detailed transaction information including check number, amount and date of clearance.  

In recent years, check processing technology has been modernized and a process that converts original checks to electronic images has been implemented. This new technology eliminates the need for processed checks to be returned to the bank on which they were drawn. Banks no longer receive processed checks, but rather an electronic file with check images. Industry-wide, most financial institutions have converted to electronic check processing and are not returning cleared checks with statements.

Westamerica offers eStatements to customers at no cost.  eStatements are electronic versions of your account statements and cleared checks which are available for you to view, download or print via a secure internet login at your convenience. If you require images of your cleared checks, enrolling for eStatements is the best resource for you.

You will receive an email each month advising you when your statement is available.  You can build up to 24 months of statement history and check images on your eStatement account which you can access at any time from any computer.

You will enjoy the speed and security of eStatements. You no longer have to wait for mail delivery or have concerns about your account information sitting in your mailbox.
